Thought I would share them here...

Get 20% of my daily vitamin A needs by adding 3 baby spinach leaves to my lunchtime sandwich. (good for my eyesight)

½ cupped chopped red acpsicum to my scrambled eggs and I have all my vitamin C needs for the day (great news for the skin)

Sprigs of parsley to my salad or pasta and I have all my vitamin K for the day (great for bone density)

Thought I would give you an unpdate.

Last night I went out to our vegie garden with the kids and harvested one of the lettuces. It was a lovely feeling to pick something that had been watered and nurtered to a full grown plant. I'm sure it tasted better because it was home grown. We also stopped and picked some strawberries.

Watching the realisation sink in to my 3 year old son that this was something in the garden that we had grown was beautiful. He was so pleased and ate 3 times as much as he usually would.

My recent blog the glamorous art of toilet cleaning got us thinking…how do you make the mundane fun?  Well there were some great ideas posted.  I decided to take a summary and include them in our list of 101 ideas to fine tune the ordinary.  Here they are

Change the alarm and ringtone on phone to something that makes you smile, rather than grimace, when they go off.

Light an oil-burner or incense stick while working at the desk

Work from home – put on nice clothes and accessories and make-up – so can feel good while doing the every-day things.

Work from home – Enjoy the freedom and wear your cossies so on a hot summers day you can cool off in the pool

To make cooking fun – wear an apron, you can have them custom made printed with your own photo or wear one that makes you feel like a domestic goddess  

Put on some of your favourite music to put a bounce in your step as you complete the most mundane of tasks

I love my shower for reflection and will use that time for some quiet meditation or washing my troubles away.  Must share that since water restructions have become tighter, I try to be more aware of time spent enjoying the cleansing feel of the water.

  • Savouring the taste of a really good piece of chocolate
  • Afternoon naps on the weekend
  • The hug I get from my hubby everynight when he gets home from work

  • If you're tired and need a break - Stretching, breathing, drinking some water, or just closing your eyes for five or ten minutes may work.
  •  Need some quiet time? Ask your family for some space and let them know that it's not because of them.
  •  Feel disconnected to your loved ones? Ask for a hug or ask them to sit and talk with you for five or ten minutes.

I went bushing walking with my husband and the kids yesterday up at Mt Glorious and it was just wonderful.  Very carefree meandering along the rainforest track and the kids felt like they were in Dora & Harry Potter wonderland.  This is has always been on my doorstep and available to us but because I focused on it - I made it happen.

For many of us living savvy...the beautiful packaging looks lovely but we are most interested in what is inside past the wrapping and the bows...this is what your dream of carefree moments with your family and those of Karen and my client were sharing.

Especially if they have a perfume (if my nose is happy, I am happy).  I dream of a garden (cared for by someone with a greener thumb then mine) where I can pick flowers from my own garden.  At the moment I feel satisifed when I pick my own lavender and scented geranium...it is a start!!
