Jo, where do you start if you want to live savvy? And where do you find the time?

Great question Amy. When you are living savvy you celebrate what you have in life.

To get started write a list of the things, people, events in your life that are important to you.

Some people have beautiful journals that they use for writing down their thoughts and ideas.  Others (like me) use the first piece of paper that they can find.

When you have your list choose one thing that you can easily and simply celebrate.

Recently I have been celebrating my friendships, so I have been picking up an extra bunch of flowers when I have been buying some for myself and giving them to my friends.

As you can see this doesn't take any extra time!

If  you are feeling time pressured.  Work your celebrations in to your ordinary and everyday life.  Celebrations don't have to be big events that require time, money or a lot of planning.  Actually sometimes the most meaningful are the simple gestures or actions.

Amy let me know how you go…what did you celebrate.?

Hi Jo,

Thanks for that.  I took a leaf out of your book and decided to celebrate great friendships and also time with family and also to let these people know how important they are to me.

Another thing I have started doing is writing thank you notes, I think it is nice to let people know they are appreciated.  It doesn't have to be a grand gesture but a short note to say thank you is a nice sentiment and meaningful I think. Like you said – it's the small things.

Thanks Jo

Good morning Amy,

I encourage you to stay focused on these things for at least the next month or so.  Avoid adding more to your list …quality not quantity.

I try and write a list of the top 5 things I want to focus on (this may also include reasons or motivations for doing something), which I come back to and check in with to make sure that I am staying on track and remembering what is important to me when life becomes "busy"

Nice one with the thank you notes …I believe that etiquette is slowly disappearing which is a shame as the small things that we can do in the name of good manners make an extraordinary difference to ourselves and the people we come in contact with.
