A weekly tradition where we pop the cork on the week that was, celebrate what worked, reflect on what didn’t, and look forward to a sparkling new week of possibility. I hope you’ll join me and share your reflections in the comments.
What am I celebrating?
A week where I felt light, bright and sparkly. It has been a shift from the past few weeks. I know I have to keep an eye on my hormonal surges next month as these can truly upset my apple cart (once again the magic hands & needles of Heidi helped enormously)
I am celebrating the choices I have made to
- Recognise the restorative value of sleep and rest
- Add something that has been missing – an easy, gentle run. To illustrate how easy it was I will share my running playlist – Eminen & Rhiannon gets me started, Little River Bad (easy listening for an easy run) keeps me going gently and Silverchair’s Straight Lines brings me home.
- Move my body away from the wall for a moment or two while in a headstand at yoga. I felt strong and stable.
- Take a road trip in December, the kids and I are heading south for a few weeks. We are going to Avoca Beach via Woolgoolga & Coffs Harbour. A coastal summer holiday – perfect.
What am I acknowledging?
How wonderful it is to have people in my life who complete me. At my fingertips I have people who I can call, brainstorm ideas, pick their brains, ask for help and share good news. A special mention to Nerida, who sent a card that lifted me up and was instrumental in shifting me back into a place of hope and believing
.
Stepping up and completing a task on my to do list, that if I thought about it to long filled me with a steady feeling of dread. Guess what? I felt great when I was undertaking the task and even better when I had completed it. Nike was onto something with their slogan “Just do it”
That it feels good to offer help and have that offer taken up.
What was missing?
My week was complete.
What small change can I make for next week?
Two weeks ago I wrote
“This is not the time for me to make any kind of change (small or otherwise). I am going to focus on doing the ordinary things in my life at the regular times that I know from experience ground me and keep me feeling solid, such as exercise & physical activity, spending time with family and friends, listening to music that makes me smile and cry, unwinding in front of my favourite TV programs, being asleep by 10.30pm, a bit of reading and do the things that will have me inching closer to realising my dreams for Living Savvy.”
This week I will be doing that.
