A weekly tradition where we pop the cork on the week that was, celebrate what worked, reflect on what didn’t, and look forward to a sparkling new week of possibility. I hope you’ll join me and share your reflections in the comments.
What am I celebrating?
The openess of the women in my life who share their real life experiences of motherhood. It is not all sweet smells, laughs and sunshine.
I treasure their honesty.
What am I acknowledging?
The benefits of more rest and less resistance.
My efforts to respect and work to my limitations, actually I will change this to, my efforts to respect and work within my current capabilities.
What was missing?
Frustration and disappointment of not meeting the expectations I place upon myself.
Listening to my body and not pushing beyond my capabilities.
Effortless parenting (is there such a thing?).
What small change can I make for next week?
Continue to fine-tune the ordinary things that impact on my health and wellbeing like my diet (eating more of the right stuff), more rest and regular physical activity that keeps me moving but doesn’t cause wear and tear.
Ready to pop the cork with me? I’d love to hear about your week in the comments…

Mmm good question. Definitely in the top 3 with flexibility about where I fit in that order. At the moment I am No. 1 the list until I feel my energies and inner balance are restored. For a prolonged period Jo I had my study and the development of my business on the top of my list until I felt myself “burning out”. Remember also I don’t have children – my major commitments are my hubby, aging Mum in a nursing residence, my coaching practice and my full-time job. I seek to keep all of these major commitments “integrated”. Sometimes Mum needs to be my highest priority, other times my family life or work commitments etc.
Jo, I’m the sort of person who never had herself anywhere near my list of priorities let alone in the top 3. Over time wisdom has taught me that it is important sometimes to put my own needs in front of all my other priorities. For me to be No. 1 on the list at the moment is a big shift for me and I recognise it is for a season only.
Wow what a step for you being at the top of the list. What you have described is living an inetgrated life where the pieces of the puzzle may shift and chage with size (sometimes on a day to day basis) but fit smoothly together.
Hi Jo
I am celebrating that I am reaping the rewards of making the decision to put myself on my list of prioities. As a result of my fresh focus and new energy I actually had a flow of inspiration this week for my business. Yeah – it’s great when that happens. So I now have the title for my first book which I am about to start to write! How cool!
What was missing?
The constant little voice in my head that says I should be pushing myself more to create the success I desire in my business.
What small change can I make next week?
Choose to be quietly confident about my future and the development of my business rather than struggling with anxiety about it.
Warm regards

Wonderful Chris, strong insights. Where are you on your list of priorities? We can’t always be at the top but rating in the top 3 is very important (with room to move). The book idea sounds exciting. Happy writing, I look forward to hearing more.
