A weekly tradition where we pop the cork on the week that was, celebrate what worked, reflect on what didn't, and look forward to a sparkling new week of possibility. I hope you'll join me and share your reflections in the comments.
What do I acknowledge from my week?
Listening to my body and taking more moments to rest. I feel a cold coming on (runny nose, sore throat and tiredness) usually I keep trying to out run (literally – I keep on with my running program!) any ill health. But, after many years, I'm learning that if you don’t give your body what it needs in the short term then you pay the price by dragging out your illness for longer, or even making it more serious. Those who know me know it's really difficult for me to hang up my running shoes for the week – a big achievement!
What do I celebrate from my week?
This week I celebrate my children and my family. My daughter turned six last week and we celebrated with a birthday party on the weekend. It is a true blessing to watch her grow into a young girl. As we were sitting together I said to her, “Being your mother has exceeded (most) of my expectations and that is saying something as my expectations are great”.
What was missing from my week?
Abundance of energy. To have anything other than full health and vitality is difficult for me to tolerate.
What small change can I make to fine tune my life next week?
I have introduced a new routine for managing what could progress into a full blown addiction to social media. On the days that I am working on the computer I now check twitter, facebook and emails only once an hour for 5 – 10 minutes.
I'd love you to share your Champagne Friday responses in the comments…
