A weekly tradition where we pop the cork on the week that was, celebrate what worked, reflect on what didn’t, and look forward to a sparkling new week of possibility. I hope you’ll join me and share your reflections in the comments.
What am I celebrating?
Not taking myself too seriously. This means I can laugh at myself, and laugh with others at myself when I do things like this…
Arrived at my daughter’s school for a mother’s day liturgy with my shirt on inside out – noticed in the car park – thought should I strip off here and fix the wardrobe glitch or dash somewhere more private? (I choose the latter!)
What am I acknowledging?
That “old habits die hard”.
I received a message from my friend Kay asking if I wanted to join her for a group personal training session next week instead of going to the gym on Wednesday morning.
My reply, “I can do both” – group PT session in the park (9.15 – 10.15) and then head to gym for weight sessions (11.00 – 12.00). The concept of “instead” did not even enter my mind.
Following my thoughts on exercise obsession last week, I have to ask myself, is this a weakness or a strength?
What was missing?
My rule is if I have to think about this question for too long, then nothing important was missing. So no gaps to report this week.
What small change can I make for next week?
Spotlighting on tasks (as I did last week) has continued to work well for my focus and productivity! I want to create some more time for reading because it’s so enjoyable and restful for me, but I need a book to immerse myself in… the latest to arrive is Getting the Pretty Back by Molly Ringwald.
Ready to pop the cork with me? I’d love to hear about your week in the comments…
