When we put our attention on someone else’s extraordinary, we can quickly find ourselves chasing an ideal that’s hard to live up to… And that’s when the ‘shoulds’ start to pile up. ![]() Christmas is fast approaching, and most people are wrapping up their work year, taking holidays and spending time with the family. Theoretically, this is the month we slow down to reconnect with loved ones, celebrate the year past, and gratefully acknowledge all our blessings. In reality, for many, it is the most stressful month of the year. ![]() I was soaking up some great articles from the Notebook magazine website when I came across an article about Brisbane-based photographer and mother-of-two Hailey Bartholomew, and her personal project 365 Days of Grateful. ![]() When talking about finding your life purpose, a popular exercise in personal development circles is to write your own epitaph – that final, short statement etched on your gravestone that somehow is meant to sum up the contribution you have made to this world in your lifetime… I’m not so sure about that. ![]() Through the Living Savvy online TV program, we talk to savvy women who are successfully creating their dream life – women who are fine tuning the ordinary to live their own extraordinary. Karen has a dream that many women can relate to. She’s not interested in fame, fortune or influence. She simply wants a life that is fulfilling – with a loving family and meaningful work. ![]() You’ve had those moments, right? You know that no amount of thinking positive, or practising the law of attraction, is going to transform your average day (whether it’s taking care of kids, juggling business meetings, or powering through a mile-long todo list) into one filled with indulgence, glamour and luxury. Am I right? ![]() Uncovering your personal brand means getting clear on your best qualities and strengths, embracing what makes you special, and shining your truth to the world. When you live this way, you’ll find a new ease with everything. I like to think of myself as a sparkly champagne – fizzing with energy and always celebrating the moment. What drink would represent your personal brand? ![]() Through my work as a personal, executive and leadership coach, an organisational performance consultant, and a public speaker, I’ve come to know many fabulous women. As I listened to their stories, I began to recognise the key characteristics that distinguished those women who were fulfilled, happy and truly successful. Of course, each story was different – but they shared one important trait, an approach to life I call “living savvy”. ![]() Living Savvy Founder, Jo Bassett, introduces Living Savvy – a lifestyle program for personal development and evolution. When you are living savvy you celebrate what’s important to you, recognise what’s missing, and are confident in making the small changes you need to starting making your dreams a reality – that’s fine tuning the ordinary to live extraordinary. |
