Jo’s living savvy approach for sustainable personal development and evolution, including the 5 steps to living savvy, is grounded in the principles of life coaching.
What is life coaching?
Professional life coaching is an ongoing relationship that supports people in producing extraordinary results in their lives. Through the process of coaching, you can deepen your learning, improve your performance, and enhance your quality of life. It’s an action focussed process that moves you forward, to close the gap between where you are and where you want to be. Coaching differs from counseling and therapy as it is focussed on the future, not on resolving past issues.
How does life coaching work?
Coaching is a partnership between you and your coach. You choose what you want to talk about, and your coach asks the right questions to help you to discover what is important, and see how your actions and choices are shaping your life. There are different kinds of coaching: business, executive, leadership, career, relationship and life coaching. Personal, executive and leadership coaching continues to be sought after by those wanting to maximize their career performance. Life coaching is about achieving results in whatever ares of your life are important to you.
Who can be coached?
People who are open to ideas and new information, which often leads to a different way of doing or thinking, are described as being “coachable”. People who get the best out of their coaching are willing to be challenged and stretched to think or do differently.
Why is life coaching useful?
It creates a space (dedicated time) to think about life, what is important, and what you want to achieve. Many people report feeling the benefits of having a coach, who acts as a sounding board, to share ideas, talk through decisions and to offer them different perspectives. A coach’s role is to keep you focused, committed and accountable.
