5 Steps to Living Savvy

Living savvy is for women aspiring to live an extraordinary life, one that is rich in experience and fulfilling. Living savvy is about the choices you make every day to create a life that is fulfilling, satisfying and joyful. The wonderful thing about living savvy is that it is as individual as you. An approach that evolves in line with your definition of success, your potential, and your needs. The 5 steps to living savvy are based on the principles of life coaching.

Step #1: Ask

The first step to creating your dream life is to ask yourself the big (and sometimes difficult) questions, and to be prepared to receive the honest answers. Here are the big questions we ask ourselves on the living savvy website:

Step #2: Do

To dig deeper, and find your own unique answers to the living savvy questions, it often helps to experiment with different activities and forms of creative expression. Follow the instructions in our living savvy how-to guides to help you uncover the knowledge you already have within, get focussed and prepare to take action.

Step #3: Discover

A core characteristic of living savvy is being open to new information, ideas, people and experiences. We learn by making connections – with others and their stories – and by creatively applying what we learn to our own lives. Discovering different perspectives, and ways of living, is the key to personal growth. You can discover something new by:

  • Finding out about, and sharing stories with, people outside your usual circle
  • Reading books, magazines or websites on diverse subjects
  • Watching and listening to practical, challenging or inspirational programs
  • Trying a new experience – something you’ve never done before

You could start by reading our interviews with savvy women, watching a living savvy online TV episode, or by checking out our very own discover posts where we showcase interesting stories we’ve found on the web and in our reading stack.

Step #4: Commit

Living savvy is about committing to change. Make a choice, try something new, take action and see what works and what doesn’t. This isn’t about overhauling your life, it’s about the small changes you can make to your daily life, your habits and your mindset to produce amazing results.  Read living savvy posts about how you can fine tune the ordinary to live extraordinary.

Step #5: Celebrate

It’s so important to acknowledge and celebrate our efforts and achievements. In fact, that’s why we have Champagne Friday every week here on living savvy. Join in by reading the weekly Champagne Friday post, where we pop the cork on the week that was, celebrate what worked, reflect on what didn’t, and look forward to a sparkling new week of possibility. Tell us what you are acknowledging and celebrating in the comments.
